Background

Mr. Winfield is a product of our public school system having graduated from Capitol High School and attended both Southern University and Louisiana State University for higher learning majoring in engineering. He has furthered his education through seminars, workshops, specialty training and business school. He has been employed in the engineering consultancy business for the past 40 years. WT and Associates, an engineering and construction consulting firm is his present employer, where he serves as president.

Mr. Winfield was appointed to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in January 2007 to fill the vacancy in District 6.

Family

Mr. Winfield has been married to Rita Gurney of Baton Rouge for 40 years. They are the parents of 3 children: William Gurney Winfield, Darlene Winfield Magee, and Paul Tyrone Winfield, four grandchildren, and godparents of 5 Godchildren.

He is a deacon at Living Faith Christian Cathedral. His fraternal affiliation is 32 degree with the Saint John Grand Lodge A.F.A.M., affiliate of James A. Taylor Lodge #78.
